The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program at Morehouse School of Medicine
Graduate Education in Nursing (GEN) is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission
on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) http://www.ccneaccreditation.org. CCNE is a national accrediting agency, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education,
that evaluates baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs to ensure they meet established
standards for academic quality, institutional integrity, and program effectiveness.
As part of the initial accreditation process, the program's CCNE on-site evaluation
is scheduled for Fall 2026.
Pursuit of initial accreditation and participation in the CCNE accreditation review
process do not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Accreditation is awarded
only following a comprehensive review and formal approval by the CCNE Board of Commissioners.
Notice of Opportunity to Submit Third-Party Comments to CCNE
Morehouse School of Medicine, Graduate Education Nursing, will host an on-site accreditation
evaluation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for the Doctor
of Nursing Practice program on September 23–25, 2026.
In accordance with CCNE procedures, program constituents and other interested parties
are invited to submit written third-party comments concerning the program’s qualifications
for accreditation. Comments must be submitted directly to CCNE and must be received
by CCNE no later than Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Only signed comments are accepted by CCNE. All third-party comments must be written
in English. CCNE shares third-party comments with the evaluation team prior to the
visit; however, comments are not shared with the program during the review process.
